The Olympic spirit will sweep through the city of Lyon for a summer weekend. During these two day, children aged 13 to 14 will take part, as real athletes, in eight events : Football, Table Tennis, Basketball, Handball, Rowing, Athletics, Rollerblading  and Mountain Biking. All of the events will be held as competitions, with each district of the town sending its own team for every sport.

To preserve the Olympic spirit, the teams will parade through the town before the beginning of the competition, as a real opening ceremony.

Paris 2012 tents and posters will garner each of the competition sites, and all of the necessary documentation on the bid plan will be available to the public.

Paris 2012 could not miss out on the opportunity to take part and support the 3rd "Games of Lyons". Along with Marseilles, Nantes, Lens and La Rochelle, the capital of the Rhone-Alpes region is one of the five French cities tied into Paris’ bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Lyon Gerland Stadium is set as one of the venues for the Football competition.
