The Paris 2012 Candidate file and supporting documents were transported to Switzerland in an unmarked truck.  The important delivery left Paris on November 11, at approximately 4am, and arrived in Lausanne at 12h03 exactly.  To ensure there would be no delivery delay, Paris 2012 preferred to send their Candidature files 4 days before the deadline of November 15, 2004.

In total, there were 20 boxes of Candidature files that were transported, 6 boxes of classified guarantees, one box of supporting documents and many tubes of large detailed maps.  All in all, the cargo measured 1.4 cubic metres.

Each Candidature File deals with in 646 pages, in French and English, the 17 themes imposed by the International Olympic Committee.  The mass of information produced has been divided into three volumes, not including the appendices.  The total weight of each dossier is close to 4.5 kilograms.

The production of this document marks a major step in the Candidature process.  The elements in the Candidature File will enable IOC members to understand in detail the concept of Paris 2012.
