Traditionally at this time of year, Paris offers its inhabitants and visitors the chance to experience the pleasure
of ice skating. Three temporary ice skating rinks have been installed in the
capital: in front of the City Hall, by the 'parvis' at Montparnasse Station and
spectacularly, on the first level of the Eiffel Tower.
Whichever of the three rinks you may visit, they all share a common theme. They all display the colours of Paris 2012.
The logos frozen into the ice remind us that although Paris is a candidate to
host the Summer Games in 2012, L'Amour des Jeux is alive during all seasons.
L'Amour des Jeux is also celebrated in front of the city halls d'arrondissement Paris. Since the beginning of December,
the twenty buildings have been adorned with the Paris 2012 colours and message
and illustrates perfectly the city's strong support for the candidacy.
Finally, in addition to the thousands of lights that illuminate the capital marking the end of year celebrations, there are
also the Paris 2012 decorations. In green, blue, red, orange, they float in the
wind offering to passers-by a reminder that there are manyl New Year's wishes
in the air, - not least "I wish the for the Games to be in Paris in 2012".
