An initiative of the Paris 2012 Bid Committee, the French Professional Football League has decided to endorse this over the course of two weekends.

All first division players will be wearing the Paris 2012 t-shirts during their warm-up sessions, accompanied by young athletes wearing the same t-shirts.

In stadiums across France, their entrance will be preceded by an announcement that "all French footballers support Paris 2012, and also reinforcing their Amour des Jeux".

On Saturday January 15, three meetings took place, with Olympic champions on hand to lend their support:

- Emilie Le Pennec, Olympic champion in asymmetric bars in 2004 and Angelo Parisi, Olympic Judo champion in 1980 gave a boost to the Paris Saint-Germain / Toulouse match at Parc des Princes.
- Assia el-Announi, the quadruple Paralympic champion in athletics, was at the Abbé-Deschamps stadium for the Auxerre-Sochaux match.
- Double Olympic champion in canoe-kayak in 2000 and 2004, Tony Estanguet accompanied Pascal Gentil, double bronze medalist in Taekwondo 2000 and 2004 in lending their support in Marseille at the Marseille/Nice match.

This endorsement of the Games by the French First Division takes place following that of the Rugby and Basketball first divisions.
