An Olympic Week
From March 9 to 12, the IOC Evaluation Commission visited Paris to scrupulously examine the Paris 2012 Bid. From the Northern Cluster to the Western Cluster, passing by the Olympic Village, the group inspected the sites and the themes of the French project.

8 March 2005 – Arrival in Paris
The IOC Evaluation Commission members arrived in Paris one by one on the 8th
of March. Nawal El-Moutawakel, the Chairwoman of the Olympic delegation, is welcomed
in the afternoon, at the Charles de Gaulle Airport, by Bertrand Delanoe, Mayor
or Paris and President of Paris 2012, Jean Francois Lamour, Sports Minister, Jean
Paul Huchon, President of the Ile-de-France Region and the other Founding Members
of Paris 2012.
Nawal El Moutawakel is driven to her hotel by bus whilst seeing the first L'Amour
des Jeux decorations en route. |

9 March 2005 – First Working Day
The IOC Evaluation Commission began to examine the Paris 2012 Bid in a workroom
at the Grand Hotel. The members of the Evaluation Commission took their place
in front of the Paris 2012 Bid Committee members. The Agenda for the day: Olympic
Concept and Legacy, Sport and Sites and the Olympic Village. |

10 March 2005 - Second Working Day
Visit to existing sites for the IOC Evaluation Commission. The programme: the
site of the future Olympic Village, the Northern and Western Clusters. |

11 March 2005 – Third Working Day
The IOC Evaluation Commission continue to examine the Paris 2012 Bid Book. The
Commission had a working lunch with Jean Pierre Raffarin and members of the French
government, and dined with Jacques Chirac at the Elysee Palace. |

12 March 2005 - Fourth Working Day
The IOC Evaluation Commission visited the non-cluster sites of the Paris 2012
concept, and examined the two last themes : Olympism and Culture, and Technology.
They noted, at the IOC Press Conference (photo 5), the exceptional quality of
the Paris 2012 Bid.
The Bid Committee (photo 6), thanked everyone "who had expressed their Amour
des Jeux" during the visit. |
