In the morning, Nawal El-Moutawakel and the other members of the Evaluation Commission covered the five following
themes: Security, Immigration and Customs Formalities, Medical Services, Political
and Economic Climate and Structure, and Legal Aspects.
The Paris 2012 Bid Committee experts were there to bring complementary information and precisions on the Paris 2012
candidature file. According to the themes examined, various members of the government
were also present to answer the delegation's precise questions. Questions relating
to Security, Immigration and Customs formalities were answered respectively by
the Minister of the Interior, Dominique de Villepin and the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Michel Barnier.
The busy agenda ended at 12.30 pm and was then followed by a working lunch, at the Grand Hotel, in the company
of the French Prime Minister, Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
After 2.30 pm, the last three themes, Finance, Marketing and Media Operations, were examined.
The members of the Evaluation Commission then left the Grand Hotel. Accompanied by some of Paris 2012's Founding members,
they made their way to the Paris Police Headquarters for a guided tour of the
Information and Command room.
This third day of visit was brought to a close with an official dinner at the Elysée Palace, hosted by the French President,
Jacques Chirac, in the honour of the members of the Evaluation Commission. |
