To respect its schedule, the Evaluation Commission split into sub-groups: while some studied the last uncovered themes of the Paris 2012 candidature file, other members of the delegation visited venues in both Paris and its region.

On their way to their first destination, the Bercy Palais Dome, the members tried out for themselves the Parisian public transport systems. Indeed, using metro line 14, the delegation traveled from their hotel to the venue selected to host Volleyball competitions.

Other venues on the agenda: the Vaires-sur-Marnes Regatta Centre Basin which will host the Rowing and Canoe-Kayak competitions, the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Park and its future adjacent Velodrome, and the Palace of Versailles where the mass start cycling will take place if Paris is elected Host City to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.

After lunch at the Grand Hotel with the Paris 2012 Founding Members, the delegation members made their way to the Colombes Sports Centre (which hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1924) to assess the site selected for the Baseball and Softball competitions.

Meanwhile at the Grand Hotel, another group examined the remaining two themes of the Paris 2012 concept: Technology, and Olympism and Culture.

To conclude the Evaluation Commission’s four day visit in Paris : a Press Conference by the IOC delegation in the Grand Hotel private rooms.
