Paris annouces its Bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.

The IOC publishes the list of applicant cities:

Havana (Cuba), Istanbul (Turkey), Leipzig (Germany), London (Geat Britain), Madrid (Spain), Moscow (Russia), New York (USA), Paris (France) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Setting up of Paris 2012, in Place d'Iena, in Paris's 16th arrondissement.

Paris gives its answers to the IOC questionnaire.

The IOC and experts examine the answers submitted by the applicant cities.

The IOC annouces the short-list of candidate cities:

London, Madrid, Moscow, New York and Paris.

29th Olympic Games in Athens (Greece). The candidate cities attend the Games as observers.

The candidate cities prepare their Bid dossier.

Paris, like the four other candidate cities, gives the IOC its final Bid dossier.

The IOC examine the Bid dossiers received.

The 33rd European Olympic Committees General Assembly in Dubrovnik, in Croatia.  Like the four other candidate cities, Paris 2012 show infront of a third of the IOC members the trump cards of their Candidature.

The candidate cities receive the IOC Evaluation Commission led by Nawal El-Moutawakel. The dates of the visit to Paris: from the 9th to the 12th of March.

The IOC Evaluation Commission publishes its report.
