Climate and Structure

France is a stable, balanced, structured democracy. The Olympic Bid enjoys strong support from government, local authorities, the French National Olympic Committee, and the general community. Strong governance is assured through the carefully structured Paris OCOG and OCOO.

A Strong and Effective Governance Structure
As coordination between the public entities involved in hosting the Games is vital to the eventís success, Paris 2012 plans to set up, as early as 2006, a distinct governance structure that will work alongside the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (OCOG). The resulting "Olympic Coordination Organisation" (OCOO) will be transparent, fully-accountable and effective. From 2008, it will be joined by the Olympic Security Organisation (OSEO) and the Olympic Transport Organisation (OTRO), making the set-up complete.

Strong and Unanimous Support for Parisí Bid
Parisí Bid is backed by all national and local political authorities, the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF) and the corporate sector, notably the support extended to Paris 2012 by all those involved in everyday public life.

Significant Support from Parisians and the French Population
Paris 2012ís Bid enjoys growing public support from the French population (79%*), as reflected in regularly conducted opinion polls. Readily associated with positive values such as competition, determination, celebration, universality and solidarity, the bid is remarkably well-recognised (96% of those in Paris and 90% elsewhere in France*) and has attracted widespread support.
