Paris City Hall today became the symbolic centrepiece of Paris Olympic aspirations
as it was spectacularly draped in the colours of Paris 2012 (the organisation
behind Paris Bid to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games) as part of one
of the biggest ever branding exercises in the history of the French Capital City.
365 days before the International Olympic Committee’s decision for the Host City
of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, in Singapore, Paris 2012 is placing
its efforts in delivering the strongest Candidature File possible on the 15
th of November 2004. In the anticipation of the hard work to come, the Bid Committee
relies on the strong support from the Parisians and French people, along with
the commitment of its political and business communities, to convince the IOC
of its will and capacity to become a Host City.
Philippe Baudillon, CEO of Paris 2012 said: “What better way to demonstrate to the world our new Bid slogan, ‘L’Amour des
Jeux’ than to proudly hang it on our City Hall? We chose this slogan to reflect
the synergy of needs and aspirations that Paris wants to develop with the Olympic
family. Paris and France have a deep and historic love of the Olympic Games. The
slogan encompasses the French passion for hosting the Games in 2012.”
During all summer, several events in the French Capital City and throughout the
country, will celebrate the French “Amour des Jeux”.
