All International Federations give their official sign-off for Paris 2012 Olympic Bid plans for sports
The Press release (Doc - 73 Ko)
Paris 2012 today confirmed they have received letters from all 28 International Federations affiliated to ASOIF*, validating the technical aspects for their respective sports in the Paris 2012 Candidature File to be submitted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 15 November 2004.
This is a significant step for Paris 2012 as they approach the final days of completing the File. It also demonstrates that their technical plans match the exacting standards demanded by International Federations in the Olympic Movement.
Since establishing contact in mid-2004, the Paris 2012 technical team has sought guidance from the International Federations to ensure the needs of their sport were met. It was also important that the International Federations understood and approved completely the city’s concept for the Games, the operational aspects for each sport and the logistics required for competition venues.
Henri Sérandour, Chairman of CNOSF, the French National Olympic Committee, and IOC member, said: “We are grateful to the International Federations for their guidance and timely approval of our plans for their sports. We recognize the amount of time and effort the International Federations have put in to validating our plans. We are pleased that we have been able to meet their requirements sufficiently to receive their sign-off.”
The IOC will decide on the Host city for the Games of the XXX Olympiad on 6 July 2005 at the 117th IOC Session in Singapore.
