The Paris 2012 Corporate Club today announced that Airbus has signed on as a
corporate sponsor in the bid to bring the Olympic and Paralympic Games to Paris
Airbus represents the twelth member of the Paris 2012 Corporate Club, joining
Accor, Bouygues, Carrefour, Crédit Agricole, EDF, France Télécom, Lagardère, RATP,
Renault, Suez and VediorBis, and raises the current corporate contribution of
the association to the Paris bid to 18 million Euros.
According to the president of the Paris 2012 Corporate Club, Arnaud Lagardère,
Airbus represents a significant addition: "We now have, within the Club, 12 of
the largest French multinationals, each of which brings to the table financial
support and technical expertise to benefit the Paris 2012 Candidature file that
will be submitted to the IOC in November. We have in place a formidable team and
I warmly invite other companies to join us and contribute to the mobilization
of French business community".
The CEO of Airbus, Noël Forgeard, commented: "It is essential for Airbus to support
the Paris Bid, in cooperation with other businesses, and to offer its knowledge,
notably, regarding air
transportation. It is with great enthusiasm that we engage Airbus and its 50,000
employees with this new challenge."

According to research conducted by the Boston Consulting Group, 42,000 new jobs
and Euro 35 billion of additional revenue would be generated by the Paris Games.
