The world’s media will be based at the stunning Hotel de Ville (City Hall) for the duration of the IOC Evaluation
Commission visit to Paris between 9th and 13th March 2005.
The announcement came as media requests for accreditation exceeded 350, with over 150 requests from outside
France.
CEO of Paris 2012, Philippe Baudillon said: "Once we received 300 requests for accreditation, it became clear that
we would need facilities with more working space for the media We are therefore
delighted to offer the historic Hotel de Ville with its spacious and efficient
working environment, and the state-of-the-art technology services. This ultimately
Parisian setting underscores the fact that, should Paris win the honor of hosting
the 2012 Olympic, the city’s iconic sites, as well as its advanced infrastructure,
will make it an ideal location for the word’s premier sporting event".
The media workroom will be located at the Hotel de Ville, with the accreditation and the daily briefings taking
place there. The accreditation will begin at 1:00 pm on 8th March 2005.
The journalists can enter the building at 3, Rue Lobau in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. Shuttle buses
will be available for the accredited media on a regular basis, connecting the
media hotels and the Hotel De Ville.
