|More than a hundred people representing the world of sport, local authorities, administrations and major public services concerned, as well as representatives of partner firms, attended this first meeting of the bid committee. The session was chaired by the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, who is President of Paris 2012. At his side were Jean-François Lamour, Minister of Sports, Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Ile-de-France Region, Henri Sérandour, President of the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF), and many other suitably qualified key figures.
Philippe Baudillon, CEO of Paris 2012, and Deputy CEO Essar Gabriel, each addressed the meeting, in turn, to introduce the main points:
